Privacy Policy
Cevto ("we", "us") is a marketplace that connects creators and businesses with creative professionals in India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using Cevto you agree to it.
1. What we collect
- Account: mobile number (for OTP login), name, photo, city and state.
- Location: GPS coordinates when you allow it, used only to find professionals near you and to show distance. You can turn this off in your phone settings; searches then use your saved city.
- Profile details you add: services, prices, portfolio links and photos, social media links and follower counts, business name and address.
- Bookings and deals: bookings, proposals, messages and photos exchanged inside a booking, reviews, disputes.
- Payments: amounts, booking IDs and payment status from Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank password. Payout details (UPI ID / bank account) are stored to send you your earnings.
- Device: push notification token, app version, crash logs.
2. How we use it
To run the marketplace: show profiles, match you with nearby professionals, hold payments in escrow and release them on approval, send notifications (push, SMS, email) about bookings, deals and payments, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with Indian law (including tax and payment regulations).
3. Who we share it with
- Other users: your public profile (name, photo, city, ratings, portfolio, social links). Your phone number is never shown publicly. Chat, photos and booking details are visible only to the two parties of a booking and, if a dispute is raised, to our support team.
- Service providers: Razorpay (payments and payouts), Supabase (hosting and database), Expo (push notifications), SMS and email providers. They process data only to provide these services.
- Authorities: when required by law or to protect users from fraud.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Money and escrow
Payments are collected by Razorpay on our behalf and held until the work is approved by the buyer or auto-approved after the review window. We keep a platform commission (shown before you pay) and release the rest to the professional. Records of every hold, release and refund are kept for accounting.
5. Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete profile details any time in the app.
- Turn notifications, location or photo access off in phone settings or in Profile → Alert settings.
- Request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing us. We may keep transaction records for up to 8 years as required by Indian tax law, and data needed to resolve open disputes.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is restricted with row-level security so users only see what belongs to them. No system is perfectly secure; tell us immediately if you suspect misuse of your account.
7. Children
Cevto is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We will notify you in the app before material changes take effect.
